Located a walk away from the romantic castle of Montebenichi, Casa Cornacchi is only a 20 minute drive from Siena, ideally located to reach the main historic cities of Tuscany, as well as wine country and the famous Crete Senesi while allowing you the enjoyment of a farm holiday in Tuscany.
The origins of Casa Cornacchi date back to the XVI century. In those days, many mercenary captains that had fought by the side Giovanni de’ Medici in the Black Brigades founded by the church, where seeking hideaways. The more wild and removed the feudal estates the safer they were, and such was the destiny of ferocious Guelph Captain Giorgio Cornachja, who in 1529 took possession of the fortified tower close to Montebenichi that dominates the valle of the Ambra River.
The earliest mention of the Cornacchi family from Faenza dates back to 1230 but only in XV century some member of the family became renowned as notary and army officer. A contract of purchase certify that the Guelph Captain Giorgio Cornachja owned the actual Casa Cornacchi since the beginning of 1500. For the following 500 years his successors, mostly landlords or jurists, lived in the same property.
At Casa Cornacchi you may choose the luxury of living your vacation in your own self contained world or you may choose to live it as a typical hotel with facilities such breakfast, dinners, bar service and cleaning service.
The facilities showcase a large swimming pool and Jacuzzi located overlooking the valley of the Ambra River, a cosy stone dining hall with an outdoor patio, a convention, meeting or party room for 35 people, a tasting room and a fitness room with sauna, solarium, massage facilities and permanent staff residing on site.
After nearly three years of careful and meticulous restoration Casa Cornacchi came back to life, where the quality of its furnishing and its modern comforts such as air conditioning and internet access in every room, make it an unique corner of wellness and relaxation. The hamlet is surrounded by a large private park with gardens, pool, Jacuzzi, barbecues, patios, verandas and amazing vantage points amidst the flowers and lush vegetation.
The main building (Casa Cornacchi) has 5 self catering apartments for 4 people and one for 2 people. Some of them can be even connected. The apartments are named: La Torre, Casa Giorgio, Casa Niccolò, Casa Giovanni, Casa Francesco and Casa Ferdinando.
The mid sized house is called Villa La Locanda and can be rented as one villa that sleeps 8 + 2 or as four independent suites. Finally the smallest farmhouse also ideal as a honey moon retreat is Casa Caterina conceived as an independent villa for 4 + 2 persons.

The main villa Casa Cornacchi
The largest of the three Tuscany villas at Casa Cornacchi’s hamlet, Casa Cornacchi, houses six independent and self catering apartments for 2 or 4 persons, four double suites one of which has handicap facilities and one independent villa for 4 + 2 persons.
The self catering apartments are all within the main building and named Casa Francesco, La Torre, Casa Giorgio, Casa Niccolò, Casa Giovanni and Casa Ferdinando.

Villa La Locanda
Villa La Locanda can be rented as one independent villa that sleeps 8 + 3 or as four suites that each sleeps 2. The common spaces of Villa La Locanda, a living room with fireplace, a kitchen and a bathroom, are at the heart of the farmhouse and add to the facilities of each suite.
La Locanda Prices:
Low Season: € 2850 per week & € 480 per day
High Season: € 3850 per week € 550 per day
Additionally, Villa La Locanda has its own private patio and garden with barbeque grill and one suite has facilities for disabled people.
The four suites are Le Rose, I Noci, Gli Olivi and I Cipressi, and each sleeps 2. Each suite (double bedroom and bathroom) has its own air conditioning system, fridgebar and safe.

The smallest house in the hamlet is Casa Caterina. It is located at the side of the property with its own private garden and gazebo, making it an ideal retreat for those that want utmost privacy.
Casa Caterina is a stand alone small villa, that allows for the convenience of Casa Cornacchi’s service, breakfast, dinners, and common areas such as pool, Jacuzzi and sauna while giving you a retreat just for you. The villa has two bedrooms with two queen size beds or one bedroom with a double bed and another one with two twins. The master bedroom is ample, quaint and luminous.
The villa’s living room, dining room and open kitchen are set on the ground floor where typical Tuscany’s architectural arches bring strength and warmth to the ambience.
