This program is for highly experienced horseback riders. The goal of this holiday is to showcase the variety of the territory, rich in historical villages, ancient woods, vineyards and olive orchards.
Riders stay with full boarding (wine included!) at the farmhouse Santa Margherita, and will taste superb wines and Tuscan cuisine during the rides and after, in a perfect combination of relaxing and riding.
Please note that this program goes from Sunday to Sunday
Weekly schedule
Sunday: arrival at the riding centre in the afternoon, welcome happy hour at 7 pm. 8:20 pm dinner is served.
Monday: 10 am riding to the roman abbey Monastero d'Ombrone.
Lunch is served at the riding centre. After lunch you will go by car to visit the paradigm of all medieval towns in Italy, Siena.
Tuesday: One full day of riding (5-6 hours). You will ride through the Tenuta di Arceno’s beautiful vineyards and sights, in particular the 200 year old and 1 km (2/3 mile) long cypress lane. You will have a picnic lunch of delicious Tuscany treats overlooking the Chianti Classico with a 360 degree view.
Wednesday: Morning ride to the medieval village of Montebenichi. Lunch will be served at Santa Margherita. The afternoon will be spent at your choice either in Gaiole in Chianti tasting wines or at the spa in Rapolano Terme enjoying sulphur baths or full body massages.
Thursday and Friday: Two full days riding through Chianti with picnic lunches and full fledged challenges. You will be stopping to taste wine and visit the cellars of Felsina, one of the best quality wine producer in Italy. You will then ride through the “Crete Senese”, famous for the herding of sheep and its “pecorino” (sheep cheese). You will most likely sleep close to Siena.
Friday you will ride through several farms in the south area of the Chianti Classico, such as the Castle of Brolio, and then back to Santa Margherita.
Saturday:Morning rides and lunch at the riding center. In the afternoon you will visit the quaint town of Casteluovo Berardenga, should you care to do some shopping, or site seeing. You can always choose to relax at the riding centre, or take a swim a the river, or even revisit the Spa in Rapolano Terme for a final relaxing treat.
Sunday: Breakfast will be served before departure.
PRICE: 1700 € per person per week
PRICE INCLUDES : All included, rides, accommodations and every meal, transportation to and from Pisa airport.
MINIMUM GROUP SIZE: 4 people – considerations for smaller groups upon request and availability.
MUST REQUIREMENTS: Only EXPERT RIDERS, above 7 years of age, are accepted for this program.
SPECIAL NOTES: Maximum rider weight of 85 kilograms or 188 pounds, only advanced or highly skilled riders on this program.
