Monte Argentario’s history goes back to the Etruscan days, when it was truly an island. Years of sediments have created isthmuses that now connect this mountain top to the main land, leaving a National Park and oasis by the Orbetello Lake as you approach this magical Tuscany coast. Porto Ercole is the smallest of the two ports at Monte Argentario, while Porto Stefano, is the busiest and from which you can hire ferry rides to visit the island of Il Giglio, Giannutri, Elba just to mention a few choices. Skuba diving and fishing are also amazing off of this part of the Tuscan coast.
Casa delle Nuvole (House of/in the clouds) honours its name perched atop a steep cliff overlooking the bay of Cala Piccola, off of the Panoramic route of Monte Argentario. This villa lovingly cared for and decorated sits amidst terraced rock gardens and ilex and oak woods. The sounds of nature accompany the sights of seagulls and other rare autochthonous species while your eye roams from flowers, to woods, to the sea.
Upon entering the villa a distribution hallway leads to the second floor through marble stairs, to one of the bedrooms with two twin size beds and bathroom in suite, and to the common areas, living room and dining room framed by an amazing arch and views of the bay. The dining room leads both to the kitchen and laundry room and to the outdoor terrace with deck furniture and umbrella ideal for outdoor dining by the barbecue grill.
Halfway up the stairs there is a master bedroom with bathroom in suite decorated in sage greens with corner windows overlooking the sea and the woods. On the second floor there are two more bedrooms, one with two twin size beds specially decorated for children and one with a queen size bed and a desk that can serve as small studio.
This is a house thought for living in it, relaxing, and enjoying the marvels of its natural enclave. Available only for bimonthly or monthly rentals, at an incredibly affordable price.
Book now for an unforgettable vacation in the Tuscan coast, by national parks, with private woods, private beaches and only a 10 minute drive from a bustling and quaint local center such as Porto Stefano.
