The country apartment Libreria is located at the heart of La Selva. It is ideal for honeymooners, with its magical setting within the woods yet close to civilization.
La Selva was once a Castle, built in 1134, destroyed during the days when it was part of the Medici empire, in the 16th century, by a French and Sienese army while acting as on of the last bastions of defence for Florence.
Libreria is walking distance from the ancient borgo of Montebenichi, a truly medieval hilltop defence during the days in which Florence, Siena and Arezzo battled for the territory. Very close to civilization (20 minutes from siena, 30 minutes from Arezzo, 1 hour from Florence) it is also perfectly removed from it.
While staying at Libreria you may have access to the main pool, tennis courts, and bocce courts and also request a tour of the Villa La Selva winery.
You can take leisurely walks through the woods, sunflower fields and vineyards or fish in the property lakes.
For those that love history and renaissance art La Terrazza is close to cities such as Firenze (60 km), Arezzo (25 km), Siena (30 km) and Perugia (55 km) and only 30 minutes to one hour away from smaller borgos or villages such as San Gimigniano, Pienza, Monteriggioni, Montalcino, Chiusi, Greve in Chianti, and Cortona.
Upon entering the apartment one is taken in by the richly decorated living room that has a built in library on the main wall finished in wood. This warm atmosphere full of books with a fireplace and furniture dating as far back as the 16th century has been thought out as a romantic enclave.
In its 100 square meters there is a fully equipped kitchen, decorated in Tuscany country style with warm yellows and oranges, reminiscent of the sunflower fields that surround the property.
Every single detail has been taken in consideration: ornaments and deluxe upholstering, paintings, the Venetian stucco colouring and the antique furniture.
The main room opens out to a large and very private terrace (30 sq. meters or 300 sq. ft.)
fully furnished with outdoor furniture for dining and sunbathing. The views are spectacular all around enticing to day dreaming and the pleasant enjoyment of life.
The main bedroom is spacious and luxurious, with a king size bed and tasteful pieces of antique furniture for aesthetic pleasure wherever rests the eye.
