Rent in Tuscany country apartments is a wonderful alternative to enjoy the countryside and living in the outdoors, while living in a cosy lodge with every comfort you might require.
The Castle of La Selva, built in 1134, was the last Florentine post protecting the Valdambra, or Valley of the river Ambra, bordering the provinces of Siena and Florence. During the days when it was part of the Medici empire, in the 16th century, it was destroyed by a French and Sienese army.
La Terrazza is located at the heart of La Selva rebuilt in the 18th century and remodelled several times after that.
It is walking distance from the ancient borgo of Montebenichi, a truly medieval hilltop defence during the days in which Florence, Siena and Arezzo battled for the territory. Very close to civilization (20 minutes from siena, 30 minutes from Arezzo, 1 hour from Florence) it is also perfectly removed from it.
While staying at La Terrazza you may have access to the main pool, tennis courts, and bocce courts and also request a tour of the Villa La Selva winery.
You can take leisurely walks through the woods, sunflower fields and vineyards or fish in the property lakes.
For those that love history and renaissance art La Terrazza is close to cities such as Firenze (60 km), Arezzo (25 km), Siena (30 km) and Perugia (55 km) and only 30 minutes to one hour away from smaller borgos or villages such as San Gimigniano, Pienza, Monteriggioni, Montalcino, Chiusi, Greve in Chianti, and Cortona.
A very charming apartment of 110 square meters (110 square feet) decorated in traditional country rustic style, with warm oranges and terracotta colours giving it an aura of relaxation. The living room opens out to a large terrace (60 sq. mts./600 sq.ft.) with a large table for outdoor dining and outdoor furniture for sun bathing with great views of the private grounds on all sides.
There are two bedrooms with queen size beds, decorated with antique furniture and keeping within the Tuscany hard country style. There is an additional sofa bed that sleeps two people in the living area.
The bathroom is a spacious room, completely refurbished in 19th century style with Florentine decorated floor tiles and tub with bronze vulture legs.
The kitchen is at the heart of this apartment. This is where you can taste the Tuscan dream. While fully furnished with modern appliances it has been decorated like the main kitchen in a sharecroppers farmers Tuscan country home including a fireplace and furniture in natural materials like marble and wood and sunflower colours.
