Villa Reggello is a traditional Tuscany farmhouse located between Pienza and Montepulciano in southern Tuscany, close to Siena, San Quirico d’Orcia, Bagno Vignoni, Montalcino and even a step away from Orivetto. While staying in this Tuscany villa, visiting Pienza and Montepulciano is a must. Pienza, is a medieval village that has been designated as part of the "world-wide heritage of humanity by UNESCO. Thanks to Enea Silvio Picolomini from an elite Tuscan family, decided in 1458 to transform his childhood home into a symbol of the Italian Renaissance. In only three years Pienza witnessed the birth of several landmark works of architecture.
While staying at Villa Reggello take the time to visit Pienza’s luminous cathedral, Cattedrale dell'Assunta, where you will see panel paintings by the most renowned Sienese artists of the period. Instead, the church dedicated to San Francesco (13th century), the city walls and the austere Pieve di Corsignano, first documented in 714, all date back to the medieval ages.
This stand alone villa is on top of a hill conquering the valley with an amazing panoramic view. The villa is surrounded by the lush green and unspoiled beauty typical of the area in a sunny, open and dominant position.
This Tuscany farmhouse from the 18th century, appears austere in its external architecture, built by ancient masons according to those simple but rational principles required by the rural family of that time, it can be appreciated nowadays for offering a highly comfortable stay.
Reggello has been elegantly restored to retain its original architecture (old ocra stones of the facade, strong holding arches, vaulted halls, beamed ceiling and cotto floors) and provide modern comforts expected by the international traveller.
This Tuscany villa is set on two floors. The ground floor has a spacious kitchen with fireplace, very bright thanks to its five windows that open onto the garden with two glass doors. An arch leads to the large living room with two couches and fireplace. The living areas flow into a bedroom with two full-sized beds and a full bathroom with shower.
On the first floor there are three bedrooms: one with two single beds and a bathroom in suite bathroom with shower; another bedroom with a double bed and a very ample bathroom in suite with bath-tub and separate large shower; the third bedroom has a double bed, with a bath-tub and a sink in the room, and a separate toilet room in suite.
