Il Colombaio di Arceno is part immersed in what was once known as the estate of Villa Arceno. Its history goes back to Etruscan times, later flourishing in the XVII and XIX centuries when owned by the important and influential families such as the Piccolomini Clementini’s. In particular during the XIX century the main Villa Arceno, today a luxury hotel, and its parks and gardens, have been re-designed and improved, adding for example a one kilometre (2/3 mile) long cypress lane (200 year old trees) that is a breathtakingly beautiful to roam and linger during outdoor walks.
Il Colombaio has an extense, lush and beautifully manicured garden that gives you privacy and a space to relax and enjoy the surrounding views of rolling hills, vineyards and olive orchards. Just beyond an arbour you can reach the pool that is shared with the neighbours at Il Colombaio. However, the pool’s location ensures that it will noise will not intrude on the peace and the feeling of serenity of your vacation.
This small villa has a large living room decorating in elegant furniture of different epochs, in pastel and yellow colours that give it warmth and reflect the natural light from the big windows overlooking the garden.
The living room connects with a distribution hallway that goes upstairs to the a bathroom with bathtub, and beyond which you can find the dining room and the open kitchen. There is a bedroom with queen size beds by the stairs with a second bathroom with shower.
